Responsibilities:

YOUR ROLE

This position is responsible for all daily surveillance activities in the casino. Ensures that the integrity of gaming operations and financial transactions are protected. This includes identifying, investigating and reporting any criminal suspicious or unusual play or deviations from internal control systems or regulatory requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises the surveillance department supervisors by leading, training, mentoring, evaluating and providing recognition of accomplishments and corrective feedback as appropriate.
  • Facilitates the effective functioning of the Surveillance team by providing expertise, resources and by cultivating a positive team environment.
  • Ensures effective communication between Surveillance and casino managers.
  • Liaises with GPEB, RCMP and BCLC as applicable on investigations and compliance issues.
  • Directs special observations and investigations as requested by casino management and the Security department.
  • Maintains complete knowledge of and ensures compliance with BCLC, GPEB Policy and Procedure, FINTRAC, FOIPPA, PIPA and PIPEDA as applicable.
  • Initiates and conducts investigation into suspicious transactions or activities through the use of real time and recorded media.
  • Reviews results of special observations and recommends action accordingly.
  • Ensures that all aspects of surveillance activity are kept in the strictest confidence.
  • Maintains data files on procedural infractions, investigations and criminal matters.
  • Encourages feedback from operators and recommends strategies to improve processes, customer service, team morale and department standards.
  • Provides timely reports and information to regulatory bodies as requested or required.
  • May prepare and monitors annual departmental budget.
  • Participates in the hiring process.
  • Prepares and communicate department schedules to maintain optimum staffing levels.(at applicable sites)
  • Acts as Administrator for iTrak, company’s surveillance system which includes setting up, monitoring user activity, adding staff members, activating access for casino supervisors and managers and re-enabling staff. (at applicable sites)
  • Manages maintenance of all relevant equipment – NVRs, DVRs, cameras, monitors etc. (at applicable sites)
  • Takes on other responsibilities as required.
