SURVEYING TRAINEESHIP

Programmed Skilled Workforce, in partnership with Tronox, is offering an exciting opportunity for a driven and motivated Surveying Trainee to join a global chemical and mining company, and work alongside a team of dedicated and passionate professionals. Working at Tronox, the world’s largest supplier of titanium dioxide, you will be offered the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification as a Surveying Trainee (CPP41721 - Certificate IV in Surveying and Spatial Information Services)

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

As a Surveying Trainee at Tronox, you will have the opportunity to learn from industry professionals. Over the course of your 36-month traineeship you will acquire valuable technical experience whilst building your skills and gaining exposure within a mining operation.

Tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Operating specialised software to analyse, process, and display data created in the form of plots, technical drawings, and orthomosaic maps
  • Survey pickups to check for conformance to design, stockpile volume checks, and pit surveys
  • Survey setout of engineering designs
  • Maintaining survey instruments and equipment
  • UAV piloting and Photogrammetry
  • Trimble Total stations & Maptek laser scanning

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

To be successful, you will need to demonstrate a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, the ability to work both independently as well as within a team, and be willing to develop your technical skills over the 36 month training period.

Applicants will ideally meet the following criteria:

  • Completion of Secondary Schooling (minimum)
  • Possess high level literacy and numeracy skills, demonstrated through the provision of academic transcripts
  • Possess a strong commitment to health, safety, and the environment, and be able to demonstrate basic knowledge and understanding of relevant workplace health and safety requirements
  • Be able to work a 76-hour, 9-day fortnight
  • Possess excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrate a high level of initiative and a flexible approach to work
  • Hold a current WA driver’s license and own transport
  • Have the ability to meet strict deadlines and cooperate with others
  • Be punctual, reliable, and presentable
