Description:

Position Details: Full Time, Fixed Term (approx. May – Aug)
Salary Range: Starting salary at $17.25/hr, based on a 35-hour work week. Salary for this position will commensurate with each individual’s education and/or experience as it relates to the position.
Location: Remote in Canada with preference to be located in Calgary, Alberta

REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently enrolled in a university, post-graduate or college program with interest or specialization in sustainability, environmental science, environmental policy, business and/or finance.
  • Academic or previous work experience in biological or agricultural or similar sciences is an asset.
  • Basic understanding of conservation finance, and business due diligence.
  • Experience with Sustainalytics is an asset.
  • A basic understanding of corporate sustainability, climate change, and biodiversity reporting, including the TNFD, TCFD, ISSB and SBTi.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Teams).
  • Strong research and analytical skills – able to conduct research, summarize findings, present recommendations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written / verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, remotely, and in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the National Sustainability Analyst, the Sustainability Analyst Summer Student will assist our Sustainability Solutions Business Unit on various ESG and Sustainability initiatives. Responsibilities may include but at not limited to:

  • Research and report on emerging trends in ESG and sustainability.
  • Conduct benchmark research and reports on sustainability best practices.
  • Conduct analysis and reporting on sustainability related risks.
  • Assist with strategic planning related to sustainability.
  • Conduct fact finding research on potential corporate partner ESG targets and goals.

The summer student may have the opportunity to assist with:

  • Carbon project support and development.
  • Biodiversity project development.
  • Business development and client relationship management.
