About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Sustainability Communications Business Partner (f/m/d) to join our global Gore Medical Communications Team to support Gore Medical Sustainability objectives. This Associate will focus on engaging internal and external stakeholders in communications to help to drive progress toward our goals as we deliver on our shared promise of Together, improving life. With its focus on establishing capabilities that allow us to become a net-positive Enterprise – where the benefits of our innovations are greater than the environmental and social impacts of our products and operations – the Gore Medical Sustainability team supports work including carbon reduction, supply chain due diligence, and lifecycle analysis methodology.
This position offers multiple work arrangements: on-site at one of our various European facilities, hybrid or fully remote work allowed from your home office in most locations within various European countries, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Gore Medical Sustainability team to develop a broad communications strategy and plan, reflecting a narrative of what stakeholders need to understand, what actions they need to take, how we want them to feel and what we want them to experience
  • Execute on the plan by developing communication initiatives, resources and tools that will enable Associates to confidently share appropriate information about Gore Medical sustainability efforts with their relevant stakeholders, including customers and Associates
  • Counsel internal stakeholders on appropriate communications approach based on issue, risk profile, and materiality (impact) to the business; work with and provide guidance on sustainability messaging to business/regional communications partners
  • Develop internal and external communication vehicles that demonstrate the progress of our efforts, contributing to annual sustainability and carbon updates/reports and proactive development of communication materials and updates to our website/social channels/internal communication channels
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with agencies, consultants and other partners, as needed for design, print, translation, media, legal content review, etc
  • Collaborate with Gore Medical Sustainability team, and business/market/sales teams to align broad messages and project team communications; collaborate where appropriate with other Sustainability teams across Gore to ensure

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 7 years professional experience in corporate communications, including experience in both internal and external communications
  • Experience working with strategic sustainability, ESG or corporate responsibility communications
  • Experience in corporate communications, public relations or public affairs in a large global or matrixed organization, with ability to balance divisional and corporate perspectives as well as regional and cultural differences
  • Mature judgment and experience working on complex, sensitive topics, including the ability to build credibility, develop strong working relationships and effectively navigate organizationally
  • Strong capability in key message development, writing, and editing skills including communicating complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences, along with a demonstrated ability to collaborate with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute varied internal and external global communications strategies, with a strong understanding of traditional, social and emerging media
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%
  • Fluency in written and oral English

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree, preferably with a major in public relations, communications, or a related field
  • Experience in a science-based, technically-oriented organization
  • Experience with sustainability reporting standards (e.g., GRI)
