GreenCheck is seeking a dynamic Sustainability Consultant to join our growing team who will take a strong role in supporting existing and new portfolios and programs. The successful candidate should have a CEM or CEA designation with commercial energy auditing experience and currently reside in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) or surrounding area, Ontario, Canada.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing monthly, quarterly, and annual sustainability reports for clients that include energy, water, waste, and carbon footprint compilation
  • Conducting analysis on utility bills and waste audit reports
  • Reviewing and understanding the current GreenCheck online system, an industry-leading sustainability management platform
  • Maintaining relationships with current clients to encourage regular system use and responding to client inquiries regarding reporting, holding monthly progress update client calls, certification requirements, and general sustainability management
  • Assisting the GreenCheck team with searching for potential new bids and projects and developing proposals
  • Conduct QA/QC on new system enhancements, calculation tools, and incoming data on an ongoing basis
  • Working to continually update and enhance methodology and standard operating procedure documents and database
  • Assist with managing and completing building certification projects (LEED, BOMA BEST, Fitwel, etc.)

Education, Skills, and Experience:

Required

  • Post‐secondary degree in environmental science, environmental studies, or sustainability
  • Comprehensive experience conducting commercial energy audits, capable of quality checking calculations for EUI and verifying GHG calculations
  • Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Excel is a key requirement
  • Knowledge of energy analysis, environmental management systems, property, and corporate sustainability

Preferred

  • CEM (Certified Energy Manager) or CEA (Certified Energy Auditor)
  • EP (Environmental Professional)
  • 2+ years of experience in the sustainability sector with an emphasis on knowledge of green building certification standards
  • Knowledge of sustainability reporting bodies such as GRESB and CDP is an asset
  • LEED-GA or AP – Operations and Maintenance specialty (O+M)
  • Fitwel Ambassador designation an asset
  • Knowledge of BOMA BEST program and requirements an asset
  • Knowledge of ASHRAE energy auditing standards
  • Bilingual (English/French) an asset
