The Job
The Company
Our client is a West London based Building Services consultancy, established for over 20 years and with an enviable client list including high-end Commercial and Residential development and refurbishment. Their service offering includes Mechanical services: heating, ventilation, air conditioning, Electrical services: lighting, power, security, fire alarm, access control and communication systems. Public health: water services, drainage, rainwater disposal.
The Role
The require and knowledgeable Sustainability engineer who will:
- create sustainability, energy efficiency and low carbon strategies for a large range of exciting projects including university buildings, performance spaces, offices and high end residences, with value up to £50m.
- Have knowledge of the Building Regulations, CIBSE TM and AM, the London Plan, BREEAM and other relevant legislation and guidelines.
- Understand environmental design principles and building physics
- Be familiar with building services and M&E
- Be able to work both independently and as part of a team
The job:
- Use dynamic simulation modelling & calculations to model thermal comfort, natural ventilation, daylight and energy consumption and demand in new and existing buildings
- Optimise efficient building services and energy strategies for new and existing buildings
- Carry out low carbon and renewable energy feasibility studies and assessments
- Model for Part L compliance (Levels 3, 4 and 5), BREEAM and London Plan targets
- Create high quality Energy Statements, Sustainability Statements, Low and Zero Carbon studies in support of planning applications
- Meet with design teams, contribute to design development and deliver sustainability and energy technical advice and reports
- Prioritise, manage resources and timelines and ensure timely project delivery
- Conduct energy audits, post occupancy evaluations & modelling to assess building performance and optimise proposals based on energy, carbon and financial feasibility assessments
Qualifications & Experience
- Non Domestic Energy Assessor – LCEA Levels 3, 4 & 5
- CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant – just advantageous
