The Sustainability Team is integral to all business operations, and you will facilitate success by supporting colleagues in communicating and articulating our sustainability journey and forward-thinking goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership for creating and delivering the company’s ESG strategies
  • Deliver insightful and timely analytics to the business owners with oversight of market trends, plus the development and progression of all relevant internal initiatives and reporting requirements
  • Continue to develop and execute a plan to offset current consumption, to meet the company’s Net Zero Carbon plan (in line with the Science Based Target initiative) and carbon neutrality
  • Ensure compliance and keep up to date with all relevant legislation (such as PPN 06/21, SECR, EPR, PRN, ESOS, etc.)
  • Oversee the compliance with the company’s current and upcoming reporting requirements (such as CDP, UNGP, SEDEX, EcoVadis, ETI, etc.)
  • Design, develop and implement a robust Environmental Management Systems to continually reduce our environmental impact and support in the maintenance of ISO 45001
  • Work alongside your procurement colleagues to drive supplier compliance and best practice, plus, assist in updating internal policies where applicable
  • Provide expert advice to the business on all aspects of ethical, environmental and economic sustainability (this includes designing and delivering quarterly learning days)
  • Ensure governance and best practice is maintained across all areas of the business
  • Work alongside the Foundation Director to monitor and report on the effectiveness of our social impact programmes, using data to drive decisions and improve initiatives (around equality, diversity and inclusion, carbon reduction, community partnerships, and supply chain diversity)
  • Support the Sales Team in articulating their specific sustainability proposition during client meetings, and attend prospect and tender presentations to effectively communicate our sustainability position
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to promote and raise awareness of our ESG strategy including internal and external communication
  • Deliver Commercial’s in house Scope 3 reporting to ensure the oversight of our internal Power Bi report
  • Provide exceptional stakeholder support that builds trust in the working relationship, confidence in our expertise, and a positive reputation for the wider industry
  • Collaborate with the People and Culture Department to support on internal initiatives such as our Change Champions programme and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. Our aim is to ensure that all of our people understand, embrace and adopt a sustainable approach to their professional and, hopefully, personal lives
  • Lead and develop an inspired #commercialbynature team
