Salary: £29,605 to £30,487 with progression to £32,982 per annum

The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Sustainability Officer to join our dynamic, friendly, and supportive Sustainability Team. The team is made up of several experienced and specialist professionals who have a broad range of expertise and who are passionate about embedding and delivering sustainability at Newcastle University.
The Sustainability Team works across all areas of environmental sustainability, energy management and waste management across our varied estate. This includes academic and accommodation buildings, sports grounds and two farms. This means you will have the opportunity to deal with a wide range of interesting and diverse colleagues and places – no two days are the same!

We are looking for a confident, personable, and adaptable professional with a passion for sustainability and experience of communicating with a range of stakeholders and handling complex data. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who have work experience in the fields of energy and carbon, sustainable travel and/or biodiversity.
There are opportunities for funded training and qualifications in environmental auditing, monitoring and targeting, and other sustainability-related courses to support your learning journey with us. You will also be supported by one of our experienced managers and have access to a wide range of internal learning and development opportunities.
We work in a hybrid way, with some home and place-based working.
We will be holding interviews, including an assessment, on Monday 15th July for shortlisted candidates.
