The Stanford Sustainability Accelerator is an organization within the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability that focuses on co-creating and launching innovative solutions that can be rapidly progressed at “speed and scale” to address humanity- and planetary-scale climate and sustainability challenges and opportunities. Work within the Accelerator will bridge a broad spectrum of domains, from scaling new technology from the lab to the market, to launching digital platforms and social movements, to addressing public policy and governance challenges.
The Accelerator team manages operations, runs our competitive project selection process, and provides resources and support to Stanford faculty and research teams. The Sustainability Technology and Business Analyst will play a crucial role in the management of projects in the newly launched Greenhouse Gas Removal (GHG-R) Flagship Destination.

IN ADDITION, OUR PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

  • Experience working effectively within an academic setting to move projects forward.
  • Demonstrated experience developing events, workshops, and trainings.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with a wide variety stakeholders & experts across different disciplines and guide efforts towards results.
  • Ability to influence without authority.
    The expected pay range for this position is $66,560 to $120,000 per annum.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth technical and commercial research on state-of-the-art greenhouse gas removal solutions to aid project teams. Make recommendations on potential external and Stanford resources and connect teams with additional resources. Report on ongoing developments in the field.
  • Assess the strengths and weaknesses of project execution, identify ways to improve execution, and make recommendations to leadership. Prepare presentations and memos to facilitate decision-making processes and implement the agreed-upon recommendations.
  • Using technical expertise, domain knowledge, and intellectual judgment, create memos and presentations for both internal and external audiences. Independently research whitespaces and external resources for the project teams.
  • Design, plan, and develop content for workshops, working group meetings, stakeholder meetings, and training programs.
  • Design and develop events, identify and invite participants, and assist with event moderation.
  • Facilitate communication and identify synergies between the GHG-R cohort and external stakeholders. Be the primary Accelerator contact for external stakeholders. Develop Accelerator flagship destination website content.
  • Represent the Accelerator internally and externally, including at conferences and working group meetings.
  • Work with the Director of Finance and Operations to create and track budgets related to GHG-R programs and events.
  • Direct project work of the administrative staff assigned to the GHG-R program.
