The Sustainability Legal team within Macquarie Asset Management is responsible for advising on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) legal and regulatory matters impacting Macquarie Asset Management’s global business

Responsibilities:

As a Sustainable Finance Lawyer, you will provide strategic advice on a broad range of sustainability-related legal and regulatory matters that may impact Macquarie Asset Management’s global business. You will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation and communication of our sustainability strategy and advising on areas such as environmental, social and governance (ESG) investment products, ESG-related litigation and shareholder activism, greenwashing, and sustainable finance regulatory developments, with particular focus on the Asia-Pacific region.
You will take a leading role in ESG regulatory change projects, supporting on legal analysis, knowledge sharing and drafting of disclosures. You will advise on legal and regulatory issues relating to the manufacture, development and maintenance of Macquarie Asset Management’s ESG-focused funds, across both public and private markets and draft ESG product disclosures in line with regulatory and market standards (e.g. CFA Institute). Finally, you will review and approve sustainability-related reporting, marketing materials and disclosures as well as attend board meetings and provide business updates on sustainability legal matters.
