Responsibilities:

WHAT IMPACT CAN YOU MAKE IN THIS ROLE?

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced accounting professional with a track record of success overseeing global accounting operations to join the Global Accounting Operations (GAO) team with the Finance Department. As the team lead of the Global Accounting Operations function, you are responsible for the accounting operations of the GIC corporate legal entities, develop and guide your team, implement, and maintain strong business controls and processes to ensure a high level of financial integrity over its accounting transactions. In addition, you will optimize operating cashflows and lead changes in the accounting operations to improve efficiency and effectiveness and deliver best in class performance.

WHAT WILL YOU DO AS A LEAD IN THE GLOBAL ACCOUNTING OPERATIONS TEAM?

  • Provide oversight to the corporate legal entities accounting operations, direct accounting activities and resources and to meet the business and functional objectives
  • Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations performed by both the in-house accounting team and outsource accounting agents. Ensure that accounting transactions and reports are prepared in accordance with the relevant accounting standards, statutory and tax laws and all financial closing and audit obligations are met on a timely basis.
  • Develop the best-in-class accounting operations in P2P, I2C, FA, R2R, T&E and Treasury, deliver on the target operation metrics and sustain a high level of performance
  • Responsible for implementing robust and appropriate controls to manage operation risks and enforce governance. Drive process improvement initiatives to achieve and maintain a high level of productivity
  • Owner of the accounting operations financial systems and responsible for working with the business IT team to ensure that the systems are optimized, performing efficiently & effectively, and constantly evaluated for enhancement opportunities to deliver greater value-add to the business
  • Drive change through technological innovations, organization design changes, process re-engineering and resource upskilling/reskilling

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS OR SKILLS SHOULD YOU POSSESS IN THIS ROLE?

  • Degree in Finance and Accounting
  • Professional qualification preferred (CPA, CA)
  • At least 15 years of progressive career in a similar role coupled with prior experience in financial / internal audit with be advantageous
  • Experience people leader who can effectively manage and develop a high-performing team
  • A transformational and effective change agent with proven track record to deliver on impactful business imperatives
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and familiarity with direct/indirect tax rules
  • Highly competent in developing and executing on robust business controls and processes to effectively abate operation risks in an efficient manner
  • Possess strong stakeholders’ engagement and problem-solving skills as the role involves working closely with stakeholders across levels within and outside of the business to deliver on accounting solutions
  • Strong communicator, hands-on, resilient, and quick to adapt to changing business demands and work collaboratively across functions to co-create and drive solutions
  • Strong proficiency in SAP and various finance systems & tools (Concur, Power BI, Tableau, Analytics, etc.), coupled with implementation experience will be highly desirable
