JOB SUMMARY:
The Switchboard Operator works in conjunction with the Senior Director Facilities & Support Services to provide 24 hour communication services and call coverage at the hospital switchboard.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with troubleshooting various technological issues to identify root cause and resolution
- Prior Experience with Electronic Medical Records Platform Preferred
- Ability to analyze operational issues and solve them creatively
- Strong Orientation to Patient Care and Patient Safety
- Medical Terminology Knowledge preferred
- One to three years’ experience as a switchboard operator preferred.
- One year of experience with phone triage required.
- Strong customer service skills required.
- Advanced computer fluency required.
Responsibilities:
- Receives and relays incoming and outgoing telephone calls for the facility.
- Provides directory information, transfers calls.
- Makes general and emergency announcements over the facility PA system.
- Handles the facility paging system and the beeper system.
