Overview:
Syndications & Placement Associate Senior: Must reside in Florida or New York
Pay Range: 80,000 - 160,000
The Syndications Associate Senior will contribute to the Syndications group in pitching and leading CNB Agented bank syndicated market facilities (Left or Right Lead) and secondary market transactions. Associates partner with senior members of the organization and participate in the origination, structure, and distribution of specific Loan Syndications, Portfolio Sales/Purchases, and Trade Activities. In summary, the associate will be directly involved in various aspects of deal structuring, deal execution, relationship management, and various ad hoc projects.
The Syndications Team is CNB’s interface between the broader capital markets, loan markets, and the client.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Consistently meets and exceeds individual and/or team sales goals, including but not limited to deposit, loans and other, as applicable.
  • Partner in the originating, structuring, and executing of Institutional transactions across multiple industry verticals as an active member within the Bank’s Specialty Capital team.
  • Analyze new client opportunities for specialty credit and investment transactions (e.g. term loans, revolvers, credit facilities, fund finance facilities, portfolio facilities, secondary market, private placements, A/B note structures, note on note facilities, asset-backed facilities, etc.).
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within Specialty Program.
  • Review and analyze market data, valuation analyses, models, and presentations that require research, evaluation, selection of alternatives, and exercise independent judgment to guide medium risk deliverables.
  • Present recommendations for resolving business challenges and exercise independent judgment while developing expertise in the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Contribute with the Senior Bankers in arranging new deals from inception to closing including review of financials, operating agreements, fund documents, engaging in the due diligence process, and negotiating loan documentation with legal counsel.
  • Independently administer and maintain the Institutional Pipeline, Directory, etc.
  • Prepare proposals, pitchbooks, and presentations to the client.
  • Attend and/or lead industry events (e.g. capital markets, structured finance, asset-backed securities, etc.)
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and emerging opportunities that could impact the capital strategy such participant lender activities, market pricing, credit appetite, etc.
  • Works independently on difficult assignments that are broad in nature requiring originality and ingenuity with appreciable latitude for un-reviewed actions or decisions.
  • Leads multiple projects with significant scope and impact.
  • Engage with corporate and sponsor clients, particularly on execution matters.
  • Work with legal, Risk and KYC to onboard clients for trading.
  • Serve as subject matter expert in all aspects of specialty credits (e.g. ABS, Fund Finance, Capital Market transactions).
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years proven experience in syndicated finance, investment banking, or a related field, with a focus on syndication transactions.
  • In-depth understanding of syndicated lending principles, processes, and structures, with a proven track record of successfully executing syndication deals.
  • Private markets fund experience is a big plus.
  • Strong understanding of real estate finance and investment.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel and financial analysis software.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage syndication transactions from inception to completion, including deal structuring due diligence, documentation, and closing.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of syndicated loan markets, industry trends, and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements related to syndicated lending activities.
  • Effective project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple syndication deals simultaneously.
  • Independent judgment and discretion required.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, financial analysis, and deal execution process.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with investors and financial partners.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Real Estate, economics, or a related field.
