THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a talented System Administrator - Information Technology to join our Williamtown based ground systems team to support a world class the airborne surveillance, communications and battle management system, the E-7A Wedgetail. The role can be based in Williamtown or Brisbane.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Information Technology tertiary qualifications or relevant OEM technical certifications.
  • Senior Systems Administrator minimum of 5 years.
  • Windows, Linux and VMware systems design and administration, is a core requirement.
  • Network device administration including Cisco and Paulo Alto desirable.
  • SIEM product knowledge and previous administration desirable.
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements. Current Defence security clearance preferable.

Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with our design team deliver system integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture.
  • Participates in the design, validation and configuration management of computing delivery systems. Plans and coordinates system changes. Administers user system access and establishes safeguards to protect information to meet security requirements.
  • The ability to use established physical, or technical principles and perform appropriate tests to identify and solve problems encountered on the job. This includes the ability to locate and isolate the problem, identify possible solutions, and select approaches that are practical and effective.
