Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION

A company that provides edge network and WAN optimisation solutions is seeking an Intermediate System Administrator / IT Operator to join its dynamic team. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining the company’s infrastructure. The primary focus of the role will be on ensuring the smooth operation of systems, optimising performance and driving automation. Suitable candidates should possess certifications in relevant areas such as Cloud, Linux, Networking, Docker, and Kubernetes, along with 4-6 years of experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing, configuring and maintaining virtual machines in development and production environments.
  • Managing and troubleshooting Linux and Windows-based systems to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Setting up and maintaining networking components such as firewalls, load balancers, and DNS.
  • Implementing and managing containerisation and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Developing and maintaining Bash scripts to automate tasks and streamline processes.
  • Deploying, managing, and scaling applications on public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Oracle.
  • Using programming languages for scripting, automation, and integration with various APIs and services.
  • Configuring and managing Kubernetes clusters to ensure scalability and resilience.
  • Experience with log parsing, database maintenance, data manipulation, and data visualisation.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Certifications in relevant areas such as Cloud, Linux, Networking, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Proficient in Database Administration.
  • Skilled in Data Manipulation and Visualisation.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
  • Proficient in programming languages, particularly Python and Go.
  • Extensive knowledge of virtualisation technologies and hands-on experience with virtual machine management.
  • Proficiency in Linux system administration and adept at troubleshooting.
  • Solid grasp of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, and load balancing.
  • Hands-on experience with containerisation technologies.
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash and Python, with a focus on automation and infrastructure management.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Oracle.
  • Experience with configuration management tools.
  • Knowledge of building automation tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams.
