As a System Implementation Engineer, you’ll be working on a new state-of-the-art solution that provides clinical intelligence at the point of need for caregivers. You will be responsible to support the implementation of data center and networking solutions within the GE Healthcare Information Technologies product line. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with significant experience in implementation of computer and network systems
  • The Engineer should have a broad understanding of all components of Information Technology in the current marketplace, including workstations, servers, operating systems, software applications, data communications hardware and software. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: computer hardware and architecture, local area networks, wide area networks, metropolitan area networks, network and computer security, Internet server solutions, remote access solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux operating system, including command line configuration and operation.
  • Person possesses one or more BS degrees Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Information Technology or significant experience in biomedical product service.
  • Engineer should obtain or hold Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent networking experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Specify components and locations for critical medical device systems implementations. Includes network, power, user interface computer components and peripherals.
  • Perform system analyses to the lowest cost implementation meeting the exacting standards of quality and performance.
  • Perform system level and detailed design including the production of drawings, specifications, network and compute component configurations and all release documentation.
  • Install and configure compute devices and systems both on-site and remotely, as required.
  • Manage projects and sub-projects to meet cost, schedule and resource constraints including the development and estimation of those projects’ parameters.
  • Own technical deliverables during the entire lifecycle of the projects. Engage throughout the full lifecycle of assigned projects, participating in decisions on architecture, design, and functionality to keep programs on track in terms of budget, time, and customer expectations.
  • Work closely with the client to understand their needs and develop strategies tailored to their organization through site assessments. Also make standard recommendations on workflow, application, interface, reports, testing and uploads to customers through the implementation process. Is responsible for go-live readiness and support as well as post-live checkups and will be required to work collaboratively with internal team members and clients to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
