Are you ready to make a global impact in the fight against climate change?
ANDRITZ is seeking a dynamic System Integration Engineer to support our entry into the Power-to-X market. In this role you will be responsible to design the overall plant concept, by combining the core processes of electrolysis, carbon capture, and synthesis (e.g. for Methanol, Methanation) or electrolysis, air separation and ammonia synthesis, for our green hydrogen and renewable fuel solutions ,and ensure integrity and as well as provide thorough analysis for optimization of the process units relating to CapEx and OpEx, in particular when intermittent power supply conditions occur. In combination with the experts for process engineering dynamic process simulation models shall be developed allowing the analysis of the operations and interactions between the various process units / plants and ensuring best feedstock and consumables efficiency and / or best CapEx. We are looking for a professional with wealthy experience in integration engineering. Your deep understanding of designing plant solutions will play a crucial role for the success of our projects. This exciting opportunity is based in Finland.
Join ANDRITZ’s Power-2X-enterprise, where our mission is crystal clear: to lead in reducing CO2 emissions through innovative green hydrogen and renewable fuel plant solutions. What sets us apart? Our passionate team of engineers and a rich history of global EPC projects, combined with our leadership in technology and manufacturing. Be part of a world class dynamic team enabling to grow the green hydrogen and Power2X economy with the opportunity to take over a higher management repsonbility in the future. We are enriched by our multicultural and multinational team and we continuously foster flat hierarchies and an open dialog culture. • Knowledge about process simulation programs
  • Ability to consult with customers and notified bodies about technical design requirements is expected.
  • Explain design solutions in an engaging manner
  • Strong communication, analytical and planning skills
  • Solution/team/customer oriented with the confidence to act pro-actively
  • Fluent in English. Another European language is an advantage
  • Willingness to travel for at least 5 days per month

Responsibilities:

  • Develop integrated process simulation models together with CO2 capture and green hydrogen and the synthesis processes, enabling analysis for CapEx and OpEx optimization along the full value chain, ensuring lowest levelized cost of product for the given task
  • Lead and guide the optimization engineering and value engineering process and its iterations with potential project partners for ensuring best / lowest levelized cost of product for the given task
  • Prepare mass- and energy balance calculations and related process flow diagrams (PFD)
  • Develop innovative concepts for modularization and standardization together with the technology development teams
  • Optimize the integration with adjacent processes such as power supply, CO2 capture and e-fuel production, and this under intermittent power profile (such as arbitrage, grid services, control reserve operation mode)
  • Work closely with project management and other disciplines such as piping, layout, static and rotating equipment, electrical and automation at the proposal and engineering phase
  • Develop the right optimized engineering concepts for medias / utilities / heat inside the battery limits for each process area
  • Collect and provide emission data for e.g.: effluent, heat, noise, gas, etc.
  • Provide calculation and sizing of sub-systems (e.g. water purification) and components (e.g. hydrogen and oxygen purification, nitrogen supply units and compression)
  • Specify and co-select sub-supplied equipment
  • Provide plant process design for needed utilities outside battery limit optimization
  • Review piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) over the full project lifecycle
  • Optimize system solutions by reviewing static and dynamic mass- and energy balance results
  • Align and improve control strategies and maintenance philosophies
