In Supply Chain Operations (SCO) we lead, plan, and execute the supply of IKEA products between suppliers and retailers. We do this together with our ~1000 coworkers, from 15 locations around the world, by leading the tactical and operational planning, securing optimal replenishment, sourcing and development of transport and logistics capacities, and managing the goods flow.
In Category Distribution, we are responsible for securing handling & storing capacities for IKEA products. We do this by establishing and managing relationships with distribution centers around the world. Our ~40 coworkers work closely with Service Providers, Retailers, Wholesalers, and other stakeholders across the IKEA value chain.
For our Distribution Center in Dubai, we are currently looking for a System Specialist who will be responsible for the set up and optimization of our warehouse and order management systems, securing efficient workflow in the warehouse and integration with automated systems.
Job description
Our System Specialist will:
- Work closely with the local team to improve logistics operations through our warehouse management systems.
- Ensure roll-out and necessary training for implementation of new releases with the aim to maximally use its functionalities. Create and maintain training documentation and resources.
- Monitor daily and weekly operations and identify potential risks or improvement needs.
- Provide reports related to the performance of the systems.
- Addresses issues to systems vendors.
- Take part in the regional Warehouse Management Systems meetings, propose change requests & performs the ROI analysis of new change requests on behalf of local unit.
- Ensure the WMS complies with relevant audit requirements.
Qualification
You are the right person for us if you have:
- Technical education or relevant working experience
- > 3 years of experience in warehouse management/logistics systems operation and support
- Experience as a super user in WMS/ order management applications/database systems. Experience in implementing WMS is a plus.
- Basic understanding how Automation Systems contribute to efficient operations in a warehouse.
- Experience in creating reports and operational queries in different databases.
- Proficient level of communication in English.
- Courage to question existing solutions to find new more efficient ways to act and improve processes.
- Proven analytical skills and the ability to understand and develop different complex scenarios.
- Ability to work in team and to develop reliable professional relationships.
