General Function:
We have an opening in the Information Technology Department for a Systems Administrator to be based out of the Technology & Innovation Center in Grimes, IA. The systems administration team is responsible for the IT server and computer system infrastructure across the enterprise including Hy-Vee’s retail, corporate, subsidiary, distribution, and manufacturing facilities. Reporting Relations:
Accountable and Reports to: Manager, IT

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administers and maintains all enterprise connected devices including on-prem physical infrastructure servers, workstations, VMware and Hyper-V hypervisors.
- Assist with making sure that system images are maintained and updated on a cadence.
- Encourages automation by leveraging PowerShell and or other scripting languages.
- Administers and maintains food scales, kiosks, handheld (Android/iOS) devices.
- Creates and maintains technical documentation stored within the team’s knowledge base.
- Manages Systems alerting and monitoring tools used in the enterprise.
- Plans and performs disaster recovery procedures for the specific fields of ownership.
- Provides second level support and assistance to Support Services and Systems Administrators.
- Works with outside consultants and vendors to resolve technical issues.
- Reports to work when scheduled and works expected number of hours.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:
- Extensive experience administering Windows Server technologies (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, DFS, Clustering, PKI)
- Extensive experience with VMware or Hyper-V hypervisors.
- Experience with Intune, Workspace One (AirWatch), and JAMF platforms.
- Extensive experience with MECM (SCCM), or other Endpoint Device Management tools.
- Experience with troubleshooting applications and preventative maintenance.
- Understanding of monitoring tools such as NAGIOS, Solar Winds, and native.
- Understanding of the network stack segmentations.
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, or other scripting languages is a preferred skill.
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude with or without available knowledge bases.
- Must possess the ability to compose original correspondence; follow technical manuals; evaluate technical data; and counsel or advise people.
- Must be able to work with all levels of employees and end users and communicate properly based on situational awareness.
Education and Experience:
- A degree in MIS, Computer Science, or equivalent technical field from an accredited university or equivalent work experience is required.
- The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of hands-on experience working with Enterprise Devices Management.

- Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction.
- Must be physically able to perform sedentary work: operating a computer, occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 10 pounds, and occasionally standing or walking.
- Must be able to perform the following physical activities: meeting with customers, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Working Conditions:
The duties for this position are performed in a general or remote office setting. There is weekly pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a day.

Servers, PCs, Microsoft Office applications, Microsoft BackOffice applications, Red hat Linux, virtualization, 3rd party applications, printers, modems, food scales, kiosks, Wi-Fi / Bluetooth printers, Android and iOS devices.
