  • Experience in management of IT infrastructures
  • Proficiency in Linux system administration
  • Knowledge of network configurations, and troubleshooting network issues in a cluster environment
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash and Python for automating routine tasks
  • Familiarity with cluster hardware components, cluster storage solutions, and parallel file systems
  • Experience in managing Slurm clusters is a plus
  • Familiarity with InfiniBand interconnect technology, including its setup, configuration, and optimization, is a plus
  • Experience in development of data management systems is a plusFluency in English

We are research group of 13 international scholars located at the Center for Molecular Medicine, University of Cologne. Our research focus is development of deep learning models for analysis of large image datasets in biology and medicine. We are looking for systems administrator to support our group in a range of IT tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and development of our high performance computing cluster
  • Installation of new nodes and components on the HPC, trouble shooting and maintenance of existing ones
  • Communication with the vendors, managing repair of the broken parts
  • Communication and coordination with the University regarding server room infrastructureDevelopment of a data management system for the datasets currently collected in the group
