Summary / Role Purpose
The Systems Administrator - II configures, enhances and supports business infrastructure systems in support of ANSYS business. The role is responsible for providing comprehensive administration, monitoring, and support of the Linux infrastructure. This role will provide Linux expertise to the business while also identifying and implementing automation solutions. This role is able to work independently with moderate supervision and participate as a technology resource in larger projects.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs advanced installation and maintenance of Linux infrastructure and client systems
- Identifying and implementing configuration management and automation
- Performs root-cause analysis and resolves network, hardware and software issues with Linux infrastructure and client systems
- Routinely performs upgrades to the existing Linux infrastructure systems
- Monitor hardware and software in support of the business
- Works with the business unit teams to support & improve systems
- Collaborates with other IT functions on complex business requirements, including design and integration points
- Provide documentation on solutions
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
- Associate degree
- Minimum of 3 years of Linux system administration
- Detailed understanding of operating system concepts
- Ability to identify and remedy hardware and software failures
- Experience installing and configuring workstations
- User support experience, including remote support
- Demonstrated ability working and leading collaborative teams
