Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Systems Administrator III in Stafford, VA.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 9 years of related experience

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area OR a HS Degree and 13 years’ experience OR Associate and 11 years of experience.
  • A candidate holding a relevant master’s degree may be granted 2 years’ experience credit for that extra education. A candidate holding a relevant PhD degree may be granted 4 years’ experience credit for that extra education.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Top Secret.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Responsibilities:

The Systems Administrator III maintains, configures, and ensures the reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization. They install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes. They troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issues. They provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgraded IT infrastructure. They perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures. They lead desktop and help desk support efforts, ensuring all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions. They are responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance, and monitoring and managing all installed systems and infrastructure. The Systems Administrator III is a senior role with extensive experience in all aspects of configuring and maintaining IT systems. The Systems Administrator III supervises and mentors subordinate projects and Team ManTech staff.
