WCLC is currently looking for a Systems Administrator with at least 3 years of experience to join our VLT Division in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. This division manages the operation of Video Lottery Terminals (VLTs) in the province of Saskatchewan and is looking for someone with a strong working knowledge of VMWare and Linux.
Reporting to the Team Lead, Gaming Systems; the Systems Administrator will be responsible for the system administration of operating systems, databases, gaming application software and hardware used by the VLT Division office. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with other members of the systems team and other departments to support business needs.

In joining our team as a systems administrator, you’ll be accountable for…

  • Maintaining and supporting the availability of VLT Central System and related infrastructure
  • Liaise with Management, end-users and suppliers regarding system issues and upgrades
  • Analyze and resolve problems and work with vendors to effect timely problem resolution
  • Ensure system backups are in place and recovery procedures are periodically tested
  • Develop and maintain competencies with server, network, storage, and gaming applications
  • Participate in the research, development, and implementation of new technologies
  • Help ensure compliance with security standards through patching and hardening initiatives
  • Providing on-call support (rotational basis)
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A diploma or degree in computer-related field with at least 3 years of experience
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting ability
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Experience with some of the following: Linux (RHEL), VMWare, dB2, Avamar, AWS, Microsoft System administration (AD, Office365, Azure), Fortinet, or ZTNA
  • Relevant certifications would be an asset
  • Must be able to work remotely with dedicated workspace and internet connection
    Following a 3 month on site training period, this role will be hybrid, working 60/40 in the Saskatoon office and remotely from home.

WCLC’s VLT division is contracted by LGS (Lotteries and Gaming Saskatchewan) to manage and operate VLTs in Saskatchewan. The VLT division operates 4,200 VLTs across the province, and WCLC provides training, installation, and maintenance of the VLTs, as well as a central operating system.
