POSITION SUMMARY:

The Systems Analyst with Application focus is to deliver support to end users in a healthcare organization about how to use various types of software programs efficiently and effectively in fulfilling business objectives. This includes troubleshooting applications and software for all internal customers, such as operations, development, and other business units. The Application Support Analyst is also responsible for assisting in the design, delivery, and improvement of in-house software applications training programs and related courseware.
The Systems Analyst with Application focus will plan, design, develop, and launch efficient business, financial, and operations systems in support of core organizational functions and business processes. This includes gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. The Business Systems Analyst is also responsible for generating and compiling reports based on the findings, complete with probable causes and possible solutions to systems issues. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT system investments.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, computer science, accounting, or management information systems and
  • A minimum of three years of experience in relevant field.
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills, exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
  • Knowledge of basic computer hardware, software, and applications.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on relationship-building, listening and questioning skills.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
  • Proven experience in the operation and analysis of database hardware, software, and standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies and mainframe applications.
  • Able to develop and interpret technical documentation for training and end user procedures.
  • Demonstrated project leadership skills, on a multi-disciplinary team, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with HRIS, payroll, scheduling, finance, policy software considered an asset.
  • Experience in the healthcare sector preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Work requires demonstrated post graduate experience in set-up service and repair of software, devices in a hospital or large institutional setting.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability in working both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Experience in medium to large dynamic complex organizational supported hardware, software, and operating systems to include configuration and connectivity specifically in a MS-Windows and Citrix Server environment.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions.
  • Ability to plan, implement, test, and troubleshoot system software.
  • Ability to develop systems solutions for operational problems.
  • Knowledge of computer flow charts and of programming logic and codes.
  • Ability to determine computer problems and to coordinate hardware and/or software solutions.
  • Ability to communicate technical guidance and instruction to users on the use of PC and/or server-based applications and systems.
  • Ability to write technical instructions in the use of programs and/or program modifications.
  • Ability to determine the nature of computer hardware and systems software problems, and to communicate technical guidance and information to users.
  • Experience in supporting a Healthcare Information Systems, HRIS, Scheduling, Learning Management, policy management software an asset.
  • Ability to learn and support new hardware, software, and operating systems.
  • Experience in project and change management.
