Description:
Our Nuclear Response and Analysis Branch is looking for a Systems Analyst!
o Ensuring that all developed software systems are compliant with CNL software quality assurance requirements, including national standards for the nuclear industry.
- Assist in the use of developed software systems for scientific analysis and data processing in collaboration with scientific staff.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills, able to make recommendations on strategic and technical issues, and to prepare work plans with some supervision or guidance.
- Tackles multidisciplinary challenges (e.g., developing new software to accommodate needs from multiple potential applications or multiple CNL operational/research groups).
- Plans and performs applied research and development.
- Able to work independently but seeks technical support as required.
- Contributes to novel solutions for unsolved technical challenges and problems.
- Must possess initiative, good judgment, and be accurate and conscientious.
- Must be capable of operational support of other technical staff and liasing with scientific staff.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain software systems for nuclear operations, research, and development.
- Assist in the selection and procurement of computing resources, including:
o Assessment of project computing requirements
o Selection and procurement of hardware
o Selection, procurement, and installation of software
- Contribute to software development for nuclear operations and scientific research in accordance with project requirements, including:
o Software design, development, verification, and testing.
o Adapting or extending previously developed software systems.
o Maintaining and debugging developed systems using appropriate configuration management and version tracking.
