MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Systems Analyst I Minimums: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in an Information Technology related field; OR any combination of education (above the high school level) and/or professional progressive IT experience equivalent to four (4) years in fields utilizing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities in systems analysis, design and implementation of IT business applications; and associated with such positions as Systems Analyst, Systems Business Analyst or Programmer Analyst. May be required to have a current and valid driver’s license.
Systems Analyst II Minimums: Requires a Bachelors Degree in an Information Technology related field plus four (4) years of professional IT experience; OR any combination of education (above the high school level) and/or professional progressive IT experience equivalent to eight (8) years in fields utilizing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities in systems analysis, design and implementation of IT business applications; and associated with such positions as Systems Analyst, Systems Business Analyst, or Programmer Analyst. May be required to have a current and valid drivers license.
Systems Analyst I/II Minimums: All employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.

Added job duties for the Systems Analyst II:

• Develop diagrams and flowcharts for system design including business process models
• Perform gap analysis to establish system and business capabilities
• Perform and/or review feasibility studies and cost benefit analyses to provide factual data on new system proposals
• Participate as directed in the creation of Requests for Proposals (RFP’s) as new system needs are identified
• Lead implementation of new technology solutions and application upgrades
• Manage project activities for small/midsized projects
• Research and complete complex report and query requests requiring knowledge of data base structures
• Manage technology vendor relation
