GENERAL INFORMATION

Livingston Parish Library is seeking a Systems Administrator to assist with the management and support of our organization’s system which includes networking servers and security.

EDUCATION, SKILLS, & WORK EXPERIENCE

College or 5+ years experience
2-5 years experience in network/server support services, certifications a plus
Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Highly self-motivated and directed
Keen attention to detail
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks
Strong customer service orientation

Network:

• Monitor and maintain the organization’s network infrastructure
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues
• Manage security protocols on network
• Stay informed about changes in network related technology and security and best practices

Security:

• Monitor and maintain the organization’s security measures to protect systems and data
• Monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities
• Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments

Server administration:

• Monitor and maintain the operation and health of servers
• Configure and manage virtual machines
• Manage security protocols to protect from unauthorized access and potential threats

User Support:

• Provide technical support to end-users
• Troubleshoot hardware and software problems
• Assist with training users on system usage and best practices
