We are seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator to facilitate the ongoing availability, performance and uplift of AV’s critical on premise and cloud databases, including timely administration and proactive maintenance. This full-time, fixed term position (ending November 2025) is based at either Blackburn North or Ballarat with WFH/Hybrid options.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to Systems Database Administration Team Leader, responsibilities of this role include, but not limited to:
- Provide timely support for AV’s critical SQL Server environment supporting critical enterprise business applications
- Manage the SQL Server patch and release program including identification of functional and business impacts
- Resolve issues with inter-system interfaces and data flows to ensure operational performance levels are maintained and optimised
- Proactively manage database and application security and integrity vulnerabilities using a risk assessment methodology
- Recommend and implement suitable tools to improve management and monitoring of databases and applications
- Develop and maintain effective plans, procedures, and policies for database monitoring, management, and upgrades to optimise database usage and performance
