As a Systems Engineer in this role, you will provide critical support to the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) as part of the Navy’s AEGIS Test and Evaluation program based in Dahlgren, Virginia. Your responsibilities will involve conducting technical evaluations of the capabilities and limitations of the AEGIS Combat System, including testing, analysis, shipboard testing, and software delivery.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Standard business work hours, with exceptions for travel-related tasks.
- Knowledge of Navy operations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to conduct shipyard visits, including climbing ladders, walking long distances, and accessing shipboard spaces.
- The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual
- Approximately 25% travel required.
Clearance Requirements:
- Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance prior to starting this position.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in U.S. Navy surface warfare, focusing on advanced shipboard electronic warfare (EW) systems for surface warships.
- Expertise in Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program (SEWIP) and Nulka decoys.
- Knowledge of AN/SLQ-32 shipboard systems.
- Familiarity with Electronic Warfare tactics.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to make presentations to diverse audiences, including high-ranking officers.
- Ability to work independently and multitask effectively
Responsibilities:
As a Systems Engineer for the AEGIS Weapon System, you will:
- Research and document the capabilities and limitations of the AEGIS Weapon System.
- Collaborate with AEGIS engineers and fleet representatives to determine impact and workarounds for fleet operators and Combat Information Center (CIC) operations.
- Support crew briefs aboard ships stationed worldwide, requiring some travel (approximately 10% of work activities).
- Research and document the capabilities and limitations of the AEGIS Weapon System.
- Evaluating impacts of computer limitations on the system, crew, and operations.
- Collaborating with engineers and fleet representatives for workarounds.
- Conducting crew briefs aboard ships stationed worldwide.
