SYSTEMS ENGINEER (HYBRID)

Tapestry Solutions, a part of Boeing Global Services BGS, is seeking a Systems Engineer in O’Fallon, IL. In this position you will be supporting the Mobility Enterprise Information Services (MEIS) which provides net-centric services as an enabler for new, modernized and current Mobility Air Force (MAF) command and control applications and capabilities supporting the U.S. Transportation Command and Air Mobility Command global mission. The Mobility Enterprise Information Services framework is a structure providing reusable common platform and information technology services, software products and components, and design patterns allowing for deployment into a common shared environment. As a sub-enterprise focused on the MAF beneath USTRANSCOM, this framework is an integral part of USTRANSCOM’s overall service-oriented architecture strategy.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

• Experience with build systems and continuous integration / continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
• Be able to design, build and maintain servers and workstations platforms in a multi-vendor environment to meet specific system requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

• CompTIA Security+
• Troubleshoot and coordinate with other members to resolve problems and implement resolutions.
• Provide technical support to resolve any Network and Platform related issues rises during the production, performance test and end user test.
• Provide expertise in automated patch delivery systems, hardening, storage area network, and operating systems.
• Work with Security team to harden the servers. Must work well with general guidance, provide competent technical input to technical writing team for system documentation, be detailed and security oriented.

TYPICAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

• Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify basic lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Evaluates customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
• Performs analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
• Supports the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
  This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
  This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
