LMI seeks a skilled Systems Engineer to support the Army, leading and integrating Army artificial intelligence (AI) strategy and implementation, synchronizing key development efforts, and setting the foundations for operationalizing AI within the Army Modernization Enterprise.

Responsibilities:

Provide support with Systems Engineering processes and methodologies to deliver the portfolio of programs:

  • Decompose tasks of new features (capability/improvement to web application) into manageable and clear tasks and requirements. Transition feature breakdowns from presentations to formal documentation, with a future focus on utilizing tools like Jira and Confluence for tracking.
  • Efficiently serialize and deconflict stories, product backlog items, and align them with the product roadmap to ensure a coherent development trajectory.
  • Proactively identify and address risks that could impact the timely delivery of the product, proposing mitigation strategies to ensure goals are met.
  • Monitor and adjust tasks across different work areas to ensure efficient synchronization and alignment, preventing overlaps or gaps in the development process.
  • Determine the necessity of prioritizing features and make critical decisions regarding feature scope and timelines based on team capacity and strategic objectives.
  • Assess team capabilities to identify underutilized talent and align skills with upcoming prioritized features, ensuring optimal resource allocation and team engagement.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Active SECRET clearance
  • BS/BA degree
  • 3-years of related experience
  • Excellent consulting, written, and verbal communication skills to support and manage customers and clients.
  • Must be self-directed, detail oriented, and able to coordinate and work with a dynamic team and multiple stakeholders.
  • Able to communicate effectively and confidently with stakeholders such as end users, technologists, team members, program management, and executive management.
  • Process driven analysis skills and a background in various requirements elicitation methods.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong leadership and team building strengths.
  • Experience coding with Python, R, or JavaScript.
