Job Title: Systems Engineer
Location: Cardiff,
Department: Back office
We are currently looking for a Systems Engineer to work with our Back Office Engineering team, which is the beating heart for all our products and services. Innovation is at the core of the Creditsafe business so it’s imperative that our Engineers are passionate about building scalable, modern solutions to help support the Creditsafe vision for new products and services using AWS as a core technology.

JOB PROFILE

We are looking for a Senior Engineer who, working with technologies such as .NET, C#, SQL and AWS, will become a key member of our team building within AWS our next generation platform supporting all Creditsafe Products.
Experienced in Agile methodologies to deliver high quality work, the successful candidate will be a skilled and enthusiastic engineer that prides themselves on quality. Possessing excellent problem-solving skills, the successful candidate will be adaptable in using new and different technologies. As an experienced Engineer, the candidate will show a passion for mentoring other team members, improving team processes and being the focal point of the scrum team’s communication.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Expert knowledge of .NET / C#.
  • Significant experience of application design and development.
  • Good experience with application development using public cloud platforms, ideally AWS or Azure.
  • SQL development, e.g. Oracle or SQL Server.
  • Knowledge and experience of Agile development methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of GIT.
  • Knowledge and experience in SOAP APIs.
  • Experience of mentoring and leadership.

Desirable

  • Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code technologies.
  • Python.
  • Experience of Web API and WCF.
  • Experience of migrating large applications to cloud-based micro services.
  • Working in distributed development teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Play a hands-on role as part of a Scrum to design, develop, test and maintain high quality applications and backend services that fulfil business needs.
  • Working collaboratively to design, develop and test solutions.
  • Take a key role in helping the technology team maintain existing software and data infrastructure.
  • Write documentation of new processes and products to facilitate knowledge sharing.
  • Has a strong focus on quality (from both a code and deliverable perspective).
  • Defines and executes practices such as continuous integration and test-driven development to enable the rapid delivery of working software.
  • Managing, tracking and updating any work done within agile software development tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Mentoring other members of the team.
  • Facilitate and review team Agile processes.
  • Being a focal point for team communication.
