Leidos has as excellent opportunity for a Systems Engineer to work on the Human Health and Performance Contract at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. This position provides systems engineering support as NASA continues to evolve systems for exploration missions, including: Gateway, lunar surface, Mars transit, and Mars surface missions. This role will work closely with a project engineering team to develop and integrate next generation technology into solutions that will enable astronauts and the program to safely execute missions beyond low earth orbit.
This position is located at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas and has the opportunity to work a flexible schedule 1-2 days per week remote.
The Systems Engineer is responsible for developing and integrating system requirements, verification and validation activity, helping define system architecture and system interfaces, evaluating system characteristics and performance, supporting integration efforts, and participating in hardware testing. The successful candidate will participate in design reviews, perform risk and opportunity management, and leverage subject matter experts to execute technical strategy. This role will also work with innovative technology, design and processes developed internally by NASA and externally by leading technology companies as well as perform trade studies and down-select.
Responsibilities:
- Create and deliver systems engineering artifacts, including: Concepts of Operations, requirements, traces, allocations, system architectures and design solutions, trade studies, interface definitions, verification and validation planning / execution.
- Participate in system testing. Perform systems operations and sustaining activities.
- Ensure compliance with Safety Plan and Quality Assurance Plan by adhering to policies and procedures
