JOB SUMMARY

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the Systems Engineering and Integration Support Subject Matter Expert (SME) position and to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
As the SME, you’ll spearhead cutting-edge initiatives in feasibility studies, concept exploration, and design reference mission engineering. Your expertise will drive the development of innovative Concept of Operations (CONOPs), requirements, and interface control documents, ensuring seamless integration and verification across all phases of the project lifecycle.
As a key player, you’ll lead system validation activities, provide crucial operations support, and implement effective change management strategies. Your analytical ability will be instrumental in assessing, aligning, and integrating programmatic, Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPB&E) efforts within the Operation Test and Training Infrastructure (OTTI), paving the way for unparalleled success and advancement in our endeavors.
Job Requirements:

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • 15+ years of relevant experience within the Department of Defense (DoD), bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table
  • Lead the charge in envisioning, crafting, and executing groundbreaking training system initiatives, both physical and digital, utilizing a blend of scientific, engineering, and technical acumen to drive system development, deployment, and sustainment to new heights
  • Highlight a wealth of experience gained from extensive tenure within System Program Offices (SPOs) and/or Program Management Offices (PMOs), demonstrating adept project oversight and strategic leadership capabilities
  • Demonstrate a deep-seated ability honed through years of hands-on involvement in Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E), deftly navigating the complexities of test and training materiel systems to foster innovation and progress
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge and firsthand experience in the deployment and upkeep of space test and training materiel systems, ensuring seamless integration and sustained operational effectiveness
  • Excel in Model Based Systems Engineering, using advanced methodologies to streamline system development and enhance optimization efforts
  • Bring a versatile skill set encompassing a wide range of disciplines including Space System Architectures, Satellite and Ground Segment design, electro-optical (EO) Infrared (IR), and Radio Frequency (RF) Sensors, Astrodynamics, Propulsion, Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC), Space-related data communications, and Space Battle Management and Control, underscoring a holistic understanding of space technology domains
  • Demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills coupled with a proven track record of leadership, facilitating effective collaboration and alignment within cross-functional teams
  • Recognized as a prominent figure in the industry, celebrated for a distinguished career marked by astute analytical abilities and impactful contributions, proving a reputation as a respected thought leader and influencer

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS

  • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) is the preferred degree for this position
  • BS/BA - required
  • MS/MA/ME - preferred
  • Ph.D. - preferred
  • Relevant work experience/training may be considered in lieu of a degree

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
