Description:

  • Support requirements engineers in developing technical requirements, verification approach and methods at system/sub-system level
  • Support the Vehicle Architect in developing system/sub-system architectures ensuring consistency with developed requirements
  • Monitor/maintain the integrity of: product structure, system architecture, requirements and compliance through the product cycle development’s cycle process
  • Ensure engineering design activities aligned with systems engineering (SE) principles and compliant with IPS
  • Support the overall design & development process to ensure task completion & quality design output by
  • Holding engineering workshops to define and prioritize tasks/issues
  • Coordinate design maturity reviews
  • Manage the engineering workbooks (including design information standardization & progress reporting)

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  • University Degree or College Diploma in Engineering or technical discipline
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Engineering or similar technical background
  • Demonstrated ability to develop budgets and schedules
  • Strong technical and analytical ability
  • Product knowledge of the vehicle
  • Strong communication, organization and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to give presentations to internal and external customers
  • Ability to travel (5% Canadian, 10% US & International) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
  • Must be able to meet Anthropometrical Size Requirements for confined space

SUMMARY

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of mobility systems and vehicle performance
  • Strong knowledge of cross-departmental procedures / practices
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle design practices
  • Basic understanding of requirements development and system verification processes

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting teams in identifying, recording project risks and associated mitigation actions
  • Assure IPT products achieve performance requirements, Technical Performance Measures (TPM)’s and all allocation targets including weight, power, and space claim
  • Manage weight & power allocation including weight/center of gravity/power calculations and sensitivity analyses
  • Lead and participate in validation of weight, center of gravity and electrical power calculations
  • Report on vehicle level weight/power and balance at review meetings
  • Coordinate SE resources including Systems Design, Analysis & Verification to ensure accuracy, completeness & SE products delivery in a timely manner
  • Oversee and responsible for preparation, review and approval of project documentation (check points and design reviews). Provide assessment for checkpoint reviews’ quality at sub-system level.
  • Support Engineering Project Mgmt. with development and technical execution of Integrated Master Schedule for SE scope
