Description:

SkyGrid, a Boeing SparkCognition Company, exists to open the sky for autonomous flight. Based in Austin, Texas, SkyGrid builds high-assurance third-party services to enable the safe operations and airspace integration of autonomous aircraft. SkyGrid also acts as a key operational nexus for advanced air mobility, integrating and managing data, infrastructure, access, and traffic to support seamless and efficient air traffic services.
The SkyGrid team is looking for a System Engineer Manager who will be the functional manager of the system engineering division in the company. You’ll be responsible for the growth of the system engineering organization, fostering the company culture, creating system engineering company processes, also providing subject matter expertise on the program. The team will be composed by system engineers with various role on the program, up to IPT leads, therefore this role requires a combination of technical, soft skills and seniority.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering or related STEM degree from an accredited university or college
  • 10+ years of experience working in a highly technical, aerospace-related industry. 4+ years of experience working in a Systems Engineering position and 3+ years of experience managing a team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in engineering or related field
  • Experience working on certified aerospace programs
  • Excellent familiarity with all phases of the SE design process including: ConOps, Requirements Development, Software / System Architecture, System Integration and Test, Verification and Validation
  • Excellent familiarity with ARP 4754A along with being to support System Safety reviews in accordance with ARP4761
  • Knowledge of MBSE development (CAMEO)

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing the system development activities including planning, requirements, design, implementation, verification, and validation
  • Ensure compliance with ARP-4754A development practices and produce necessary artifacts
  • Review certification, quality and safety standards ensuring alignment with the system processes
  • Continuously improve the system engineering processes and methodologies
  • Perform all SE aspects of project planning, scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation
  • Is responsible for the people management aspect of the system engineering organization such as: hiring, performance evaluation, providing feedback, and supporting their professional development
  • Local candidates preferred but remote candidates will be considered
