Description:

Cross River Rail will transform the way we travel to, from and through Brisbane in the future. It will be a catalyst for 10 years of wider rail transformation across the whole of South East Queensland and it is already playing a key role in how we prepare for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Cross River Rail is a new 10.2km rail line including 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD. It includes the delivery of four new underground stations, two new above-ground stations, accessibility rebuilds for six stations, the construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast, and the introduction of a new world-class ‘ETCS’ signalling system.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to work on one of Australia’s largest infrastructure projects and to be a part of something that will leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.
About the Role
As Systems Integration Engineer you will support the oversight of the integrated testing and commissioning stream, through our Alliance partners to ensure best practice is adhered to. You will support both off-site testing in a purpose built Systems Integration Testing Laboratory and on-site systems testing. The role covers a diverse range of technologies in a rail environment including the introduction of a number of new technologies to the Queensland Rail environment including, European Train Control System (ETCS), Automatic Train Operation (ATO), and Passenger Screen Doors (PSD).
The focus of the position is to ensure that testing and commissioning activities associated with rail systems align with technical objectives and requirements. The position will involve liaison and collaboration with a range of stakeholders including internal project teams, Queensland Rail, contractors, consultancies and regulatory bodies to implement effective systems integration methods and ensure that the interfaces between project packages are well managed.
This opportunity is offered as a contract until March2026 with possible extension.

Responsibilities:

  • Review project documentation for compliance with project scope, standards, and technical requirements and regulations.
  • Participate in the Rail Systems & End-to-End Planning phase of the project including review of Interface Control Documents and Integrated T&C Management Plans.
  • Perform data manipulations to transform raw source data into machine readable outputs and insights for T&C forecasts.
  • Act as an interface between project teams, stakeholders and contractors ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Support and provide advice to suppliers and stakeholders in the development of testing and commissioning documentation and deliverables to ensure they meet project obligations.
  • Attend Risk Management meetings contributing to the identification of risks and issues and the development and implementation of mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain and track the Systems Integration dynamic testing database.
  • Support the preparation and response to requests for information and T&C-related correspondence including contributing to briefing papers and presentations.
