We are looking for a Tack Coat Truck Operator at our Walker Construction – Niagara location.
SKILLS
This position requires a demonstrated degree of initiative and judgment to organize and prioritize daily tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to details and ensure work is done correctly and thoroughly.

- Ability to use computer technology for electronic log completion and onboard touch screen controls.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
QUALIFICATIONS
- DZ driver’s license with the ability to successfully operate all types of manual transmissions.
- Experience within the road construction industry is an asset.
- Completion of Transportation of Dangerous Goods training within two months of hire
- Availability for all shifts that include days, nights, and out of town work on short notice.

Responsibilities:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate the tack coat truck in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Perform Daily Trip Inspection in accordance with Schedule 1 and report deficiencies.
- Load and unload truck with tack coat.
- Lighting and monitoring onboard propane or diesel burner systems.
- Route planning to maximize efficiency.
- Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures including traffic control plans.
- Keep accurate records of time and material used.
- Promote, execute, and adhere to the company’s safety program and encourage all employees, subcontractors, and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
- Clean interior and exterior of truck as required.
- Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself or endanger the wellbeing of others.
- Be a representative of Walker Industries to customers as a frontline worker.
