As our Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will play a key role in helping us reach our people objectives in support of our growth trajectory. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will have accountability for ensuring that we have the right talent in place, through a mix of permanent and contract hires.

SKILLS, CAPABILITIES, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • College Diploma with a concentration in Marketing, Business, or Human Resources
  • Combination of 2-5+ years of demonstrated experience in Recruiting
  • As part of your experience profile, you would have experience in some or all of these areas:
  • Experience working as either a corporate or agency Recruiter
  • Behavioural and/or performance outcome interviewing techniques
  • Familiarity with Employment Equity and Diversity hiring practices
  • Employment Branding/Recruiting Branding
  • Negotiating and closing offers

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the best pipeline of candidates for our team to further promote the Fleetway brand by sourcing, recruiting, building relationships with candidates, and hiring managers, interviewing, assessing, and closing candidates. You are adept at finding unique solutions to tough talent problems.
  • Conduct interviews, negotiate offers, and close candidates.
  • Turn recruiting data into a meaningful conversation with our internal customers that leads to recruiting solutions.
  • Utilize your marketing and social media communication savviness to promote our employment brand and engage with Talent Communities.
  • Build client and candidate relationships, take initiative to solve recruiting problems, connect with potential talent, and promote our company brand.
  • Manage campus relationships and student events, along with external career and job fairs with industry partners.
    If this role is for you, you must have a passion for building relationships, sourcing talent, and closing candidates on our opportunities. You need to be adaptable, versatile, and tenacious when it comes to working your network to find talent. We believe great sourcing and relationship building is done using the telephone, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable sourcing this way.
    It would help if you have some experience using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS.) Business writing and grammar skills to help support our external recruiting campaigns and communications are required. To round out the profile, you have a demonstrated and proven sense of urgency and ability to balance shifting/multiple priorities without sacrificing deadlines.
