WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO YOU BRING?

  • Completion of a college diploma or university degree in a related discipline (Human Resources Management) or combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
  • Several years of related recruitment and selection experience.
  • Previous HR experience in a public sector and/or unionized environment is an asset.
  • Demonstrated good knowledge of recruitment and selection practices and methods, including sourcing and attracting applicants, and developing and conducting structured interviews.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current employment legislation and the issues related to recruitment and selection, including Ontario Human Rights Code, accommodation, discrimination, employment equity, diversity, etc.
  • Must have or rapidly acquire working knowledge of the TTC policies and provisions applicable to hiring and employment, including Collective Agreements, Seniority Regulations, equal opportunity, etc.
  • Sound judgment, tact and diplomacy.
  • Strong interpersonal, interviewing, presentation and oral/written communication skills.
  • Well-developed organizational, time management, analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
  • Experience with SAP - Success Factors is an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and assess applicant qualifications, and pre-screen and shortlist qualified candidates, ensuring adherence to consistent, fair and equitable employment practices.
  • Lead panel interviews of candidates and identify/select candidates for hire.
  • Prepare and complete all necessary paperwork for employee documentation.
  • Ensure recruitment and selection practices are carried out in accordance with established policies, procedures and legislation.
  • Review and plan for hiring requirements which may include participating in advertising, job fairs and/or outreach initiatives as required to promote employment opportunities at the TTC, and provide guidance and advice to hiring departments on recruitment/selection issues, etc.
  • Ensure timely completion of related administrative duties, and keep accurate records and statistics.
  • Demonstrate behaviours that support diversity, inclusion, and a respectful work and service environment that is free from discrimination and harassment.
  • Help to remove barriers and accommodate employees and customers (within their area of responsibility) in accordance with TTC’s commitments and obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and Related Orders, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and TTC’s policies.
