Reporting to the Talent and Culture Business Partner, the incumbent is responsible for supporting the transactional functions of the Talent and Culture department, including, but not limited to, records management, payroll and group benefit plans administration, performance management, staff engagement, contract management, vendor management and corporate initiatives. This position also acts as a representative of the Talent and Culture function and ensures that his/her contribution is a value add to the achievement of the goals of his/her internal clients.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or other related field.
  • Minimum of three to five (3-5) years of HR generalist experience.
  • Previous payroll experience will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Employment Standards and payroll regulations is essential.
  • Exceptional MS Office skills including Excel and comfortable utilizing a variety of IT systems including, but not limited to, an intranet, databases, etc.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a range of populations.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the creation of instructor contracts.
  • Facilitate Talent and Culture initiatives to enhance the efficiency of the employee cycle.
  • Provide support at various points in the recruitment processes of the organization including initiating online Criminal Record Check requests, conducting reference checks, creating job requisitions in Dayforce, and posting vacancies on various job boards, initiating onboarding or offboarding activities utilizing Dayforce, resolving system access issues, and creating new employee and group benefit files, etc.
  • Serve as a resource and a main point of contact for questions related to the terms and conditions of employment, group benefit plans, and policies and procedures, etc.
  • Issue Employment Verifications, Records of Employment (ROE’s) and other employment related documents.
  • Participant into the staff engagement project and follow up the action plans.
  • Maintain Dayforce data accuracy by creating and updating employee records and run various reports, as required.
  • Assist the C&B Team in pension management, such as Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP).
  • Assist the C&B Team in executing pay cycles, including verifying and approving timesheets, resolving timecard exceptions, leave balance and ensuring compliance with internal and external controls within required deadlines for employees.
  • Work with service providers including, but not limited to, AGA, Desjardins and, to resolve issues and/or concerns.
  • Participate in special projects and campus events.
  • Other duties as assigned.
