POSITION SUMMARY

Carmen Schools seeks a Talent and Human Resources Coordinator that is excited to provide day-to-day support to Carmen’s talent and human resources operations.
Reporting to the Director of Talent and Human Resources, this position plays an important role in supporting the work of the talent and human resources department in attracting, hiring, and retaining Carmen staff. This position will provide broad support with a variety of activities from talent outreach through day-to-day human resource management. This individual should have reliable transportation to travel to any of our campuses and off-site work related events.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience teaching or working in an educational leadership role strongly preferred.
  • Experience in recruiting and/or human resources is desirable but not required.
  • Commitment to Carmen’s mission and organizational success.
  • A passion for the field of education and strong desire to promote teaching and other education careers.
  • Outgoing, energetic personality and ability to engage with a wide range of people and in a variety of circumstances.
  • Ability to handle confidential data with discretion.
  • Strong organization, follow-up, and information management skills, including Excel and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) proficiency.
  • Excellent computer skills particularly with Microsoft Office.
  • Self-directed and results-oriented.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate ability to be self-directed and take initiative, required.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and a team player.
  • Ability to receive feedback constructively and implement changes immediately.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and assists with various talent recruitment strategies and hiring activities.
  • Conducts outreach to prospective applicants leading to demonstrated success in recruiting qualified applicants.
  • Supports, organizes and participates in hiring fairs and other events to promote Carmen.
  • Utilizes applicant tracking systems to assist with various talent activities.
  • Processes and maintains applicant tracking system templates.
  • Coordinates and assists with Campus Tour and interview schedules.
  • Manages applicant verifications of employment, background, and reference checks.
  • Pre-screens candidates to determine most qualified and promising candidates according to minimum and preferred qualifications.
  • Maintains and purges the applicant database as required.
  • Performs administrative data entry across various systems and employee file maintenance.
  • Supports employees with basic interpretation of benefits and HR policies/procedures.
  • Assists with new employee hiring process and conducts orientations.
  • Initiates employee on-boarding and off-boarding activities. For example, submits IT set up requests, license verifications, updates staff lists and MPS required reports.
  • Processes verification of employment requests.
  • Assists with benefits administration and compliance reports.
  • Resolves benefits-related problems and acts as a liaison between employees and insurance broker/providers as needed.
  • Supports in the facilitation and execution of payroll related activities
  • Conducts employee stay and exit interviews.
  • Other duties as assigned
