We are looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to work with our People and Culture Department to help us continue in our mission to serve our community with Kindness, Passion, Courage, and Teamwork.
As a key member of the People & Culture team, the Talent Acquisition Specialist (TAS) is responsible and accountable for the full-cycle recruitment and selection processes. The Talent Acquisition Specialist (TAS) contributes to the development, promotion, and management of appropriate talent acquisition strategies to profile job opportunities within the hospital. In addition to supporting immediate needs, the Talent Acquisition Specialist (TAS) develops long-term talent acquisition strategies to source top talent and nurtures trusting relationships with potential hires to generate future pipelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree with a specialization in Human Resources or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a recruitment role required.
- Experience working in a multi-unionized environment required.
- CHRP/CHRL or actively working towards completion preferred
- Experience working within a hospital environment preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply employment legislations (e.g., Employment Standards, Human Rights, Health & Safety, Privacy, Compensation, Labour Relations, etc.), Human Resources Policies and Collective Agreements.
- Demonstrated ability to build, foster and maintain productive relationships with candidates, clients, and team members.
- Ability to function independently and as a member of a team in a busy and complex environment.
- Strong time management, planning and organizational skills to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
- Superior professional judgment, diplomacy and relationship building skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
- High level of composure and demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment where there is a need to be able to effectively manage multiple tasks/assignments at the same time.
- Solid understanding and use of project management and ability to balance and manage multiple interests.
- Advanced computer skills.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Liaising with leaders on a day-to-day basis, the Talent Acquisition Specialist (TAS) provides support and counsel on a broad variety of recruitment and selection needs, including but not limited to:
- Manages the entire recruitment process by efficiently supporting the Management team in all aspects of recruitment including developing recruitment strategies based on the specific portfolio needs while adhering to collective agreement guidelines.
- Accountable for full cycle recruitment for all positions within the hospital, including requisition processing, job postings, applicant tracking, interviews, reference and Criminal Records Checks, employment offers, onboarding and orientation.
- Create, review, and edit job descriptions and job postings.
- Coordinate tracking of all required documentation for new hires
- Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing and recruitment strategies to meet portfolio objectives including providing advice and guidance with respect to appropriate advertising strategies for external postings, using social media (i.e. LinkedIn) and professional job posting boards and networks to advertise positions.
- Represent Headwaters Health Care Centre (Headwaters) as a brand ambassador at career events.
- Build a pipeline of high-potential candidates for positions that require a specific skillset.
- Assist to diversify labour force.
- Support a robust succession strategy.
- Responsible for generating weekly recruitment reports.
- Work closely with the People and Culture Business Partner and the management team to address talent gaps and proactively support those gaps.
- Participates in the development and implementation of People and Culture policies, procedures and programs.
- Works with the Occupational Health and PCBP to determine suitable vacancies for work accommodations.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, privacy legislation, recruitment policies, processes, and procedures.
- Promotes an environment that encourages and supports change using change management theory.
- All employees of Headwaters are responsible to contribute to a transparent culture of patient and staff safety by adhering to and abiding by patient and staff safety policies and procedures set by HHCC.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
