Job Description
The Coordinator, Talent provides support to ensure our stores have the top-tier talent required to deliver exceptional candidate experience. This is achieved through support of the Indigo Talent process, strong hiring manager relationships, and a passion for high-caliber candidate experience. The purpose of this role is to help mould the next generation of recruiters at Indigo.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Functional

  • Create, test, maintain and run custom reports in SmartRecruiters or other database systems.
  • Respond to SmartRecruiters user inquiries and requests
  • Coordinate candidates, recruiters and hiring managers’ interviews
  • Conduct reference checks and process background checks
  • Support with monitoring & responding to inquiries in HR inboxes as required
  • Other administrative projects as assigned
  • Support complete cycle recruiting through the administration of the TA process
  • Execute sourcing strategy, criteria, process and profiles
  • Presents shortlist summaries and recommendations
  • Facilitates recruitment process – scheduling, communications & candidate experience
  • Manages due diligence checks, new hire system set up & onboarding planning
  • Provides weekly and ad hoc reporting in a timely manner
  • Ensures recruitment advertising and postings align with Indigo’s talent brand guidelines
  • Support continuous improvement to the TA process, systems, tools
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience and advise the TA Manager when the candidate experience is at risk
  • Act as an advocate for the candidates by placing them at the forefront of all decision-making and design processes
  • Proactively identify and anticipate candidates’ expectations and needs
  • Embrace and seek out technology that creates high-tech and high-touch solutions
  • Challenge the status quo by consistently identifying areas for improvement, diagnosing issues and working to resolve them
  • Support with presentation and research related to diversity and recruitment
  • Coordinate surveys on onboarding, hiring satisfaction, and diversity
  • Update the Diversity and Talent pages on the internal website as needed
  • Coordinate corporate social responsibility and branding initiatives
  • Help develop and execute innovative recruitment marketing strategies to attract top-tier talent, leveraging various channels such as social media, job boards, industry events, and employer branding initiatives
  • Attend career fairs and employment-related events
  • Support employer branding efforts to enhance Indigo’s reputation as an employer of choice, effectively conveying the organization’s values, culture, and unique selling points to prospective candidates.
  • Execute onboarding process to ensure seamless integration of new hires into the organization, fostering engagement and accelerating time-to-productivity
  • Collaborate with hiring managers, HR, and relevant stakeholders to customize onboarding plans based on role requirements and individual needs.
  • Manage the onboarding planning process, including new hire system setup, due diligence checks, and coordination of new hire orientation sessions.
  • Provide ongoing support and resources to new hires, facilitating their transition into their roles and fostering a sense of belonging within the organization.
  • Proactively monitor and address any issues or challenges that may arise during the onboarding process, ensuring a positive experience for new hires.

QUALIFICATIONS

Work Experience / Education / Certifications

  • Completed post-secondary education specializing in Human Resources, Business, or equivalent
  • Interest in pursuing a career in recruitment or human resources

Competencies / Skills / Attributes

  • Self-motivated, passionate, empathetic, approachable
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • A strong sense of professionalism and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills
  • Outstanding communication skills (Verbal and Written)
  • Passionate about retail and transformation
  • Highly detail-orientated, organized and able to multi-task
  • A high degree of transacting simultaneous requests, i.e. phone, e-mails, in-person

  • Belief in accountability and ownership

Other (travel, Bilingual, etc.)

  • Occasional travel within GTA to stores, schools, and community centers (approximately 10%)
