Description:

Jardeg is seeking a Talent Development Manager to become part of our team. This is a permanent, full-time role located at our Calgary office. The position offers an in office or hybrid work arrangement with occasional travel to our Edmonton office and other site locations. POSITION OVERVIEW:

As the Talent Development Manager in our Construction Services organization, you will assume a leadership position in implementing Jardeg’s Talent Management strategy. This role involves guiding leaders in the evaluation and nurturing of talent in alignment with the business strategy, while spearheading learning and development initiatives within the company. You will play a proactive role in succession planning and career management, ensuring employees receive the guidance and support necessary for advancing their careers within the organization. This senior-level position demands strategic thinking, exceptional leadership abilities, a mindset of abundance, and a dedication to inspiring and empowering individuals.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Development, Leadership, Construction Management, Business Management, or related discipline
  • 15+ years of experience in Talent Development or a similar role with at least 5 of those years in the construction industry or a closely related industry
  • Trusted leader and team player who prioritizes collaboration, is quick to build trust, listens generously, possesses a positive and uplifting mindset, and values DEI
  • Self-directed and proactive; possessing advanced problem-solving, decision-making, and project management skills
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to align learning and development programs with organizational goals and objectives
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to effectively convey leadership concepts to a field audience (note: our Construction SMEs will deliver technical field training)
  • Deep knowledge of L&D best practices, methodologies, instructional design principles
  • Proven success in developing impactful learning content, both independently and in collaboration with technical SMEs
  • Based in Calgary with periodic travel to the Edmonton office and various job sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute a comprehensive learning and development strategy for Construction Field Leaders that aligns with the organization’s vision, values, and goals
  • Partner with business leaders and construction Subject Matter Experts across the organization to design and implement L&D initiatives that enhance employee performance, project execution skills, leadership abilities, and business acumen
  • Design, manage, and facilitate training programs that utilize diverse learning methods, modalities, and tools to enable efficient knowledge transfer
  • Implement strategies for succession planning aimed at identifying and evaluating high potential employees, and devising learning programs and experiences that accelerate their growth, in order to build a robust pool of future leaders for the organization
  • Provide guidance and coaching to employees regarding their career planning and development, encompassing areas such as performance management, goal setting, and skill enrichment
  • Assess the effectiveness of L&D initiatives by analyzing metrics, soliciting feedback, and conducting assessments to gauge impact and make appropriate modifications as needed
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and leading practices in organizational development, talent development, career management, and succession planning to foster ongoing enhancements in these domains
