Description:

Interviews will be held on 03 June 2024.
To provide a qualified specialist assessment and therapy service to adults as part of the Talking Therapies service. To take a senior, lead role and provide advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care working within the policies, procedures, and protocols for the service. To manage and lead a team which will focus on service delivery of the Talking Therapies programme.
Full time and Part Time hours considered.

To lead, develop, monitor and evaluate new or existing areas of service delivery, care and treatment and to be involved in the implementation of various interventions.
To advise both service and professional management on those aspects of the service where psychological and/or organisational matters need addressi ng.
To be responsible for line management, project management and pathway leadership as appropriate.
To develop skills in the areas of training and supervision, providing clinical supervision to other qualified clinicians, and supervision of other team members’ work, as appropriate.
To provide advice, consultation and training to staff in areas of the post holder’s competence as required.
To provide a specialist assessment and therapy service based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources, including psychological assessments, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and in direct structured observations as well as interviews with clients.
To formulate and implement plans for the formal treatment of client’s problems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the client’s problems and employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy according to N.I.C.E. guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  1. Doctoral level training in clinical psychology /counselling or health psychology Or Qualification in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy to post graduate diploma level. AND Professional qualification in health or social care, e.g. RMN, Social Worker or equivalent. AND British Association of Behavioural Cognitive Psychotherapy accreditation Or Professional qualification in health or social care, e.g. Counselling Psychologist/ RMN/ Social Worker or equivalent AND Recognised Accredited Qualification in Counselling (CFD)/ IPT/ DIT.
  2. A minimum of 2 years post qualification experience of specialist therapy assessment and treatment of clients in Adult Mental Health
  3. Ability to identify and employ mechanisms of clinical governance as appropriate, to support and maintain clinical practice in the face of regular exposure to highly emotive material and challenging behaviour.
  4. Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.
