Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners – applications are now open. Come and join our friendly team at locations across Berkshire - (Newbury, Reading, Wokingham, WAM (Windsor, Ascot, Maidenhead), Bracknell and Slough).
We are a service that leads on innovation, boasting a robust preceptorship programme for our staff, allowing them to have a clear progression plan and develop in their career with us.
As a Trainee PWP, your working week will be made up of a mix of University teaching days and in service clinical days. University days take place in person and via online teaching (please note this is subject to change and is at the discretion of the University of Reading). In service, in line with the national guidance, we will expect you to be working in the office to enhance your learning and training opportunities . You’ll be primarily based at one of our 6 offices (as per the above locations) but please note where required, you will be expected to efficiently travel to other offices/locations across Berkshire.
As part of this role, you will be attending a course at the Charlie Waller Institute, University of Reading which is due to start on 9th September. To be able to attend the course and ensure a smooth onboarding process, you will be required to complete your pre-employment checks by 30th August, allowing you to start with the Trust on 4th September. Additionally, the University of Reading requires confirmation of appropriate visas by 4th August 2024.
You will be based as an employee within Berkshire Talking Therapies whilst attending Reading University, with a mixture of teaching days and service days.
You will be required to undertake and pass the Talking Therapies PWP training, provided through the University of Reading and achieve the Postgraduate/Graduate Certificate in Evidence based Psychological Treatments as part of this role.
Providing high volume, low intensity interventions using cognitive behavioural therapy for mild to moderate anxiety and depression
Opportunities to support those with long term physical health conditions and those with employment issues, alongside our fantastic employment support team.
On successful completion of the programme, you will be equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes, and behaviours relevant to employment as a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner within Talking Therapies.
After successful completion of your Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner Qualification, you will be required to apply for your PWP Registration through either the BPS or BABCP.
