Responsibilities:

This role is sits within a 3 person team managing the tax functions of Capgemini Australia and NZ operations, including providing advice on tax planning opportunities, identifying tax risks and mitigation strategies, ensuring tax compliance, as well as managing internal tax reporting requirement.

Tax Compliance

  • Preparing tax computations and filing of tax returns. This includes Corporate Income Tax, GST, FBT, withholding tax, payroll tax etc.
  • Ensuring all tax returns are lodged on time.
  • Liaising with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), NZ Inland Revenue Department (IRD) and other regulatory bodies when required.
  • Advising the business on tax planning opportunities, providing tax review for new deals, acquisition and integration.
  • Understanding financial landscape and market trends.
  • Monitoring new tax developments, analyse its impact to the company and advise the business accordingly.

Internal Reporting

  • Collaborate with APAC finance team for group periodical reporting.
  • Working closely with AU Finance team for monthly review of tax related accounts and tax cash flow forecast.
  • Working closely with AU Finance team and auditor for statutory reporting relating to the company’s tax position (DTA, tax provision, income tax expense etc).
  • Ad-hoc reporting as and when required.

Internal stakeholder relationship

  • Completing tasks accurately and within timelines.
  • Providing accurate and timely advice in response to queries.
  • Ensuring compliance with procedures, internal controls, current legislation, and business requirements.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement and streamlining.
  • Maintaining a good working relationship with Finance team and business.
  • Ensuring alignment to Capgemini requirements and legislation.
