Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager to join our team. As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for conducting thorough research, analysis, and review of complex tax matters related to estates and trusts. You will provide expert advice and guidance on tax planning strategies for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and gifts. Your expertise in international tax issues, including cross-border transactions and international estate planning, will be integral to the success of our firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough research, review, and analysis of complex tax matters related to estates and trusts.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on tax planning strategies for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and gifts.
  • Specialize in international tax issues, including cross-border transactions and international estate planning.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and legal teams to interpret trust documents and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Utilize software systems such as SurePrep, GEMs, CCH, Microsoft Suites, and Adobe to streamline tax processes and maintain accurate records.
  • Review and prepare tax returns, specifically Forms 1041, 709, and 706.
  • Stay updated on the latest tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements to provide accurate and up-to-date advice to clients.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders to address tax-related inquiries and provide exceptional client service.

Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue opportunities to expand and grow the firm’s tax services.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract new clients and retain existing ones.
  • Proactively engage with potential clients, build and maintain strong relationships, and present tax solutions that align with clients’ needs and goals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and changes in tax laws to ensure the organization remains competitive and compliant.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop marketing and business development initiatives, conduct market research, and analyze competitor activities.

People Manager:

  • Manage tax professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support in their day-to-day activities.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all tax-related tasks, including income tax returns, tax planning, compliance, and audits.
  • Stay up to date with changes in tax laws and regulations, and communicate these updates to the team, guiding them in implementing necessary adjustments.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify areas for professional development within the team.
