Responsibilities:
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
We are seeking a Tax Manager to join our Group Finance team. In this role you will be overseeing and managing all aspects of Ryman’s Australian tax compliance, reporting and planning activities working alongside our external consultants. You will have a peer to work alongside, who manages the equivalent for New Zealand.
You will be working as the technical expert to understand the commercial reality and assess compliance or impact of Australian tax laws and regulations. We would want you to foster relationships within the business to ensure that you are seen as a critical business partner as we grow and adapt.
This role may from time to time provide support for other Group tax projects unrelated to the Australian business to balance workload and ensure learning and growth.
PLEASE NOTE THIS ROLE WILL BE BASED IN OUR CHRISTCHURCH OFFICE.
Key responsibilities but are not limited to:
- Building strong cross-departmental relationships with key stakeholders
- Providing advice on tax implications for various business decisions and initiatives
- Identifying and assessing tax risks and developing strategies to mitigate potential issues
- Ensuring accurate and timely preparation and filing of all required tax returns
- Upskilling finance team members to ensure that tax knowledge is shared
- Collaborating with the finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate and transparent financial reporting related to taxes
